Anatomic position
Upright, facing front, arms at sides, palms forward and feet parallel.
Frontal/coronall plane
Made at right angles to the midline and divides the body into anterior (face, stomach, quads, knees, etc.) and posterior (back of head, back, butt, calves etc.)
Sagittal plane
Divides body into halves, right and left sides but does not have to be equal sides.
Medial plane, midsagittal plane
A plane that divides the body into right and left sides that passes directly through the midline to create equal sides.
Transverse plane
Divides the body horizontally to create superior and inferior parts.
Cranial cavity
Contains dorsal cavity and brain

Large ventral cavity between diaphragm and pelvis that includes the abdominal and pelvic cavities
