What are the 5 types of urinary incontinence?
A

urge incontinence: strong urge to pee which results in urine leaking
- overactive bladder and obstruction are usually the cause

stress incontinence: stress on the bladder results in urine leaking
- stress = sneezing, coughing, laughing, etc.
- functional incontinence: physically unable to urinate or HCW is unable to assist in time
- overflow incontinence: excessive volume results in urine leaking
- reflex incontinence: urine leaking at regular intervals; r/t SCI
