What is a resource?
something that helps an organism stay alive
What is competition?
the struggle among living things for water, food, or other needs
What is pollution?
harmful things that get into water, air or land
What is endangered?
when one kind of living thing has very few of its kind left
What is a fossil?
the remains of something that lived long ago
What does extinct mean?
when a certain kind of organism is gone forever
How do living things change their environments?
- spider spins a web

What happens as more plants grow?
More animals move to the environment
People change their environments. What happens when people make harmful materials?
They make pollution. Cars pollute the air, trash pollutes the water and land.
What happens when people cut down trees?
It can wear away at the soil
What happens when animals do not eat an organism that is new to an area?
They take water and nutrients from other plants that need and grow over everything in its path.
