Abnormal electrical brain activity.

Unusual behaviors like shaking and possible loss of consciousness.

Remains unknown.
What are the conditions that increases the risk of Epilepsy?
Development delay, autism, head trauma, stoke, brain tumors or Alzheimer’s disease.
Does Epilepsy can run in families?
Yes, it can be hereditary.
How many medications are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for treatment of epilepsy?
More than 20 anti-seizure medications.
What’s the percentage of people with epilepsy that will continue to have seizures despite taking medications?
About 30% of people with epilepsy.
what will be the option if a person does not have full seizure control?
Surgical removal of the area of the brain causing the seizures.
