What does the Central Nervous System consist of?
Of the brain and spinal cord.
What does the Central Nervous System do?
Sends out nerve impulses and analyzes information from the sense organs.
What does sense organs do?
Tell your brain about things you see, hear, smell, taste and feel.
Where is the brain located?
In the cranial cavity.
What does the brain do?
Processes a constant stream of sensory data.
What does the Sensory data do?
Give awareness of ourselves and of the environment.
What is the Spinal Cord?
A pathway that relays information from the brain.
The Spinal Cord relays information from the brain to what?
To the organs and tissues of the neck, torso and limbs.
The Spinal Cord is protected by what?
By the bony spinal column.
What are Meninges?
The three protective membranes that enclose the brain and spinal cord.
What are names of the 2 halves when a longitudinal fissure divides the brain?
Left and right cerebral hemispheres.
The 2 halves are interconnected by a pathway of nerve fibers along with?
With information continuously passes.
The left half of the brain is in control of what?
The right side of the body.
The right half of the brain is in control of what?
The left side of the body.
