Communication Apprehension
The anxiety that happens when some people think of having to communicate in an unfamiliar situation
Debilitative emotions
Emotion that prevents a person from functioning effectively. Like Social anxiety
Emotions
Feeling states that include physiological changes, cognitive interpretations, and an outward expression
Emotional Contagion
the process when emotions are transferred from one person to another. “A smile is contagious”
Emotional intelligence
The ability to understand out own emotions and be sensitive to others’ feelings
Emotional Labour
Times and places where it is expected or necessary to suppress our feelings.
Emotionally Counterfeit
When the sender thinks that are expressing a feeling, when in reality their statement doesn’t have any emotion.
Fallacy of approval
The belief that you need to win the approval of everyone you meet
Fallacy of catastrophic expectation
The belief that everything that could go wrong in a situation will go wrong.
Fallacy of causation
The belief that emotions are caused by others, not by the person who has them.
Fallacy of Helplessness
The belief that satisfaction in life is determined by forces beyond one’s control.
Fallacy of overgeneralization
The belief that a great communicator should be able to handle every situation perfectly

the irrational belief that people should behave in the most desirable way.

Rational-emotive approach
A method of getting rid of debilitative feelings while still remaining sensitive to more facilitative emotions. To change your feelings is to change unproductive thinking.
