What are the 3 forms of prayer?
Vocal Prayer We use our voice and say set words that we read or have memorized, or we may say personal prayers aloud
Meditation We use our mind, heart and imagination to consider God and to seek his will for us. We may also pray about what is happening in our lives. Books, such as the bible, are often used in meditation.
Contemplation We are simply and lovingly united to God. Since prayer is a way to worship God, it includes things necessary for due worship
What is prayer?
the raising of the mind and heart to God; talking with God
What is the Divine office/Liturgy of the Hours?
the prayer of the Church using Psalms, hymns and readings. It is called the Liturgy of the Hours because parts of it may be prayed at different times of the day.
What is the Rosary?
a tool made of stringed beads that helps us to pray
What do each of the mysteries recall?
important events leading up to and during the life of Jesus
What is meditation?
we use our mind, heart and imagination to consider

- Daily process of dying to ourselves and recommitting ourselves to God
- Living our journey to God, in union with him.
- Not just prayer, but a lifetime learning about God, receiving the Sacraments, and living the moral life, as well as praying
