pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)
an infection of the upper female reproductive organs that occurs almost exclusively in sexually active women, caused by organisms entering vagina during sexual activity
symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease
Generalized lower abdominal pain
Abnormal and often foul-smelling vaginal discharge
Increased pain during sexual intercourse
Fever
General malaise
Nausea and vomiting
symptoms of chlamydia
Lower abdominal pain
Low back pain
Nausea
Fever
Pain during sexual intercourse
Bleeding between menstrual periods
bacterial vaginosis
normal bacteria in the vagina being replaced by overgrowth of other bacterial forms
symptoms of bacterial vaginosis
Itching
Burning
Pain
“Fishy” foul smelling discharge
Pregnant women with BV may have premature babies or babies born with low birth weight
symptoms of gonorrhea
Usually more severe in men
Appear 2-10 days after exposure
Painful urination, with associated burning or itching
Yellowish or bloody discharge, usually with foul odor
Blood associated with vaginal sexual intercourse
Crampin and abdominal pain
Nausea and vomiting
Bleeding between menstrual periods
