can lead to bronchiolitis, pneumonia, serious heart or lung problems
highly contagious

decreased LOC
active GI bleeding
inability to follow commands
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
a slow process of disruption of the airways and alveoli caused by chronic bronchial obstruction
symptoms of COPD
chronically producing sputum
chronic cough
difficulty expelling air from lungs, with long expiration phases and wheezing
breath sounds: crackles, rhonchi, wheezing, or diminished breath sounds
almost alwasy long-term smokers
emphysema
loss of the elastic material in the lungs that occurs when the alveolar air spaces are chronically stretched due to inflamed airways and obstruction of airflow out of the lungs
symptoms of hay fever
runny nose
congestion
sneezing
sinus pressure
caused by an allergic response
