symptoms of tension headache

Increased pain when bending over or when heads are moved forward
early sings of a brain tumor

ischemic stroke
when blood flow to a particular part of the brain is stopped by a blockage in a blood vessel
thrombosis
a clot forms at the site of blockage
embolus
a clot forms in a remote area and travels to the site of the blockage
symptoms of an ischemic stroke
loss of movement on one side of body
atherosclerosis
transient ischemic attack
when blood flow to the brain is obstructed due to atherosclerosis or a small blood clot
pt may exhibit signs of stroke
1/3 of pts will experience a stroke soon after
symptoms fo a stroke
facial drooping
sudden weakness or numbness
decreased or absent movement and sensation on one side of body
lack of muscle coordination
difficulty swallowing
vision problems
decreased responsiveness
postictal state
the period following a seizure that lasts between 5 and 30 minutes that may include labored breathing and altered mental status
status epilepticus
a condition where seizures continue to occur every few minutes without the person regaining consciousness or lasts longer than 30 minutes
need advanced airway management and medication
symptoms of a generalized seizure
sudden loss of consciousness
chaotic muscle movement and tone
apnea
tachycardia
hyperventilation
sweating
intense salivation
hemiparesis
weakness or the inability to move on one side of the body
