Microsoft Word
first released in 1983 and has evolved into the most popular word processor in the world, originally developed for Xenix (a Unix type platform) and Microsofts Disk Operating system (DOS) by 1985 there was a version of Word developed for Apple called Macintosh, and in 1989 Words file format was distinguished with doc or docx. it allows images, spellcheck, grammar checking, etc
Adobe Acrobat
another powerful word processor that allows users to create, edit, format, and print portable document files (PDF files), can be accessed on virtually any platform (operating system). Acrobat Reader is a freeware product for viewing, printing, and annotating PDFs and PDF files can be signed
Corel WordPerfect
Developed in 1979 at Brigham Young University for Data General Minicomputers and enjoyed early success when it adapted for other operating systems like windows, in 1980s it was the dominant player in word processing market until Microsoft word took over

an electronic grid of columns and rows typically used to create, model, and manipulate numerical and often financial information

a spreadsheet application that works on Windows, Mac OS X, and IOS. it performs calculations, makes graphs, develops pivot tables, and it also has a programming language called visual basic for Applications (VBA), is the most popular after replacing Lotus 1-2-3 in 1993
Database Management System
used to create a collection of related files called tables that consist of records (rows) of data separated by fields (columns) that can be queried to produce populations of information (example: a customer table which will a list of all customers and all of their information separated)
Presentation software/ Microsoft powerpoint
businesses rely heavily on presentation software to visually communicate and collaborate in strategic and tactical meetings. allows users to distributed in printed copies and electronically so they can be accessed anywhere in the world
Browser software/ network software
browsers allow users to view items via the internet, and network software allows computers to communicate with each other
Browser software
is user interface software that allows the user to display web pages found on the world wide web such as text, pictures, videos, etc. (google chrome, safari, firefox, internet explorer)
Computer network
is 2 or more computers connected together for resource sharing and communication, resources refer to files folders, software, and other internal elements of a computer like printers, scanners, and webcams
