Crowd Mentality
Behavior of a group of people that may be unsafe.
Event Design
A process that starts with the development for event objectives that align with the overall objectives of the sponsoring organization.
Exclusive Provider
Contractor appointed by event or building management as the sole agent to provide specific services or products.
Freemium (model)
A pricing strategy by which a product or service (typically a digital offering or application such as a software, media, games or web services) is provided free of charge, but money (premium) is charged for proprietary features functionality or virtual goods.
Green Room
Room, stocked with refreshments for artists, feature speakers, and entourage to meet guests and media representatives.
Speaker ready room
Order of Precedence
A system which ranks dignitaries according to international protocal for purposes of seating, honors or ceremonies.
Program Design
Structure of event program elements to achieve specific goals and objectives.
Program Flow
Outlines the timing of each element and helps provide a realist time frame that identifies where the schedule may be too crowded or where gaps appear in the program.
Program Manager
The leader of the project team, who fosters collaboration through project-management tooks/techniques between key project stakeholder groups.
Public Health
Refers to all organized measures (whether public or private) to prevent disease, promote health and prolong life among the population as a whole.
It’s activities aim to provide conditions in which people can be healthy and focus on entire populations, not on individual patients or diseases.
Request For Proposal (RFP)
A document that stipulates what services the organization wants from an outside contractor and requests a bid to perform such services.
Speakers Bureau
Agent that represents hundreds of speakers. They work for a fee that is usually included in the quoted price. Can provide suggestions based on your group’s needs, objectives and demographics.
Speaker’s Lounge, Den, Ready Room
Area set aside for speaker’s to meet, relax, text, AV or prepare prior to or between speeches.
Learning Objective
A statement written that describes what the participant will be expected to learn at the conclusion of an educational event; “learner outcomes” refer to the results of activities conducted by the learner
Pedagogy
Refers to the art and science of teaching, training and facilitation
