Jump height divided by contact time
Reactive Strength Index
The athelte sprints toward the staris from a standing start 20’ from the base of the stairs and then up the staircase three steps at a time.
Power (Watts) = (Weight (N) x Height (m)) / time (sec)
Time is measured from the third step to the ninth step.
Margaria-Kalamen Test
Athletes sprint 25 yards away, then immediately sprint back to the first line. Six round trips as fast as possible without stopping.
The average of two trials is recored to the nearest 1.0 second.
300 Yard Shutle
Set a metronome to 40 beats per minute and have the individual do slow, controlled repititions to lift the shoulder blads off the mat in time with the metronome. The upper back must touch the floor before each curl-up.
The athlete must perform as many repititions as possible without pausing, to a maximum of 75.
Curl up
Beginning position - Knees off ground
For the army standard, as many repetitions done within a timed 2-minute period.
Army Push-up
Begginning position - Knees on ground, legs crossed
For ACSM standard, as many reptitions as possible are done continuously until failure.
ACSM Push Up for Females
Consists of 2 x 20m shuttle runs at increasing speeds interspersed with a 10-second period of recovery.
Interval 1 - Start at 10 km/h.
Interval 2 - Start at 13 km/h
