Compare and contrast Winfield Scott and Zachary Taylor
Dressed sloppily and lacked an air of superiority his undeniable bravery and friendly manner won him the unflinching devotion of his men. However he was not a particularly good strategist and his easygoing manner did not create the most organized or disciplined camps. Scott on the other hand was nicknamed “old fuss and feathers” because of his love for military pomp and discipline. He lacked Taylor’s warmth and was not as popular with the rank and file soldiers. However he had a better grasp of strategy and his Mexican campaign was one of the most brilliant in American military history
