  1. Remove unit from case
  2. Tear off red strip and remove unit from bag
  3. Pull out actuation ring
  4. Do not use unless you hear gas flow
  5. Bend forward, grasp hole in neck seal with thumbs, insert chin into hole and pull hood across face and over head
  6. Pull hood down until headband firmly engages forehead
  7. ensure all clothing, jewellry and hair is clear of the neck seal

  1. Move to a safe area clear of fire, smoke and fumes
  2. Insert both hands under the neck seal beneath the chin
  3. ease the hood up over the head and clear of the face
  4. brush your hair with your hands to break down oxygen build up

A
  1. Grasp the red strap attached to the lid and pull sharply to break tamper evident seal
  2. Grasp the yellow nylon strap and pull the PBE from the stowage container
  3. Tear the red tear strip across the pouch
  4. unfold the hood to reveal the oxygen cylinders
  5. hold the cylinders and pull the ball cord
  6. Check the oxygen flow and green light
  7. place hands inside the neck seal opening with palms facing each other. Guide the smoke hood over the back of the head and down over the face
  8. ensure clothing etc clear of neck seal
  9. adjust glasses if necessary
