located toward the back of the body and has 2 divisions, the Cranial cavity and the Spinal Cavity
Dorsal Cavity
located toward the front of the body and has 2 divisions, the Thoracic Cavity & the Abdominopelvic Cavity
Ventral Cavity
divided into 2 compartments by Mediastinum Cavity; contains Pleural Cavities located on either side of mediastinum cavity
Thoracic Cavity
space that contains pericardial cavity, esophagus, trachea, thymus gland, and large blood vessels attached to the heard
Mediastinum
located within mediastinum; contains the heart
Pericardial Cavity
contains left and right lungs on either side of the mediastinum
Pleural Cavities
upper portion of Abdominopelvic Cavity; contains stomach, most of intestines, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, and kidneys.
Abdominal Cavity
lower portion of Abdominopelvic Cavity; extends downward from the level of the hips and includes the remainder of intestines, the rectum, urinary bladder, and internal parts of reproductive system
