Responding to a kidnapping scene:

Uniformed officers will not respond to the scene of a kidnapping unless specifically directed to do so. Prior to dispatching a uniform officer to the scene, PSC will have a district investigator or plain clothes officer respond to the scene to verify the kidnapping.

Question 1

Employee receiving kidnapping complaint shall attempt to obtain the following :

Answer 1

• name, address and number of the complaint
• name, address and description of victim
• location of incident
• relationship of complainant to victim
• suspect information
• availability of photographs

Investigation of the kidnapping :

If verified, the robbery section shall be notified. The robbery section will handle the kidnapping and robbery of a courier or T/A employee. District investigator will handle the kidnapping and robbery of a citizen and the abduction and commission 3rd or 4th degree sexual offenses.
