The manner in which a person acts
Behavior
When a patient’s behavior is not typical for the situation; when the patient’s behavior is unacceptable or intolerable to the patient, the patient’s family, or the community; or when a patient may harm self or others
Behavioral emergency
Chemicals within the body that transmit a message in the brain from the distal end of one neuron to the proximal end of the next neuron
Neurotransmitters
A chronic mental disorder that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves
Schizophrenia
Bizarre and/or aggressive behavior, shouting, paranoia, panic, violence toward others, insensitivity to pain, unexpected physical strength, and hyperthermia, usually associated with cocaine or amphetamine use
Excited delirium (aka agitated delirium)
Inadequate breathing or respiratory arrest caused by a body position that restricts breathing
Positional asphyxia
