A03- strengths of CBTp
- NICE found CBTp was effective in reducing re hospitalisation rates up to 18 months following end of treatment
BUT
- often treated with drugs too so hard to assess effectiveness alone
A03- weakness of CBTp
- research shows individuals with more experience of sz and greater realisation of their problem benefit the most
(Dependent on stage of disorder) - lack of availability (only 1 in 10 who need it in uk get offered it)
- benefits of CBTp overstated- drug therapies better?
