CBT- F-PLN Flashcards
How many FPL does the AF system use and what are their main purposes?
- Active F-PLN : Lateral/Vertical Guidance + Navaid Autotune
- 1st SEC F-PLN: Prediction comparisons
- 2nd SEC F-PLN: Anticipate diversions, store CMPNY OIS ATC FPL
- 3rd SEC F-PLN: Reserved for ATC
Four Total (One Active and three Secondary)
What are the methods to create a FPL in the MFD?
- Stored Company (CPNY RTE)
- OIS Uplink (OIS F-PLN)
- Manual build
What are the types of waypoints on the F-PLN?
- Navigation database waypoints
- Pseudo waypoints
- Flight Crew created
What is the range of the minimum off route MORA shown to crew on ND?
40nm
What waypoints will be shown on the vertical Dsiplay?
Pseudowaypoints (TOC,TOC,UTC Marker, ETP, DECEL…)
When is VD on ND available?
ARC and ROSE
What does the VD mainly show?
- WX
- TERR
- Safety Altitude
- Trajectory
How is the vertical cut defined in the VD?
In NAV mode by the active primary fpl or the LS beam when in managed mode.
How are constraints shown in the VD?
What is the “Safety Altitude” shown on the VD?
NAV database MORA or MSA. MSA is only shown in SID STAR
Pilot must check with chart
Explain what the solid green line, dotted and green arrow represent?
- Solid : Current path without pilot action. Managed mode on the flight plan or LS beam or in V/S selected mode whilst respecting the AFS CP altitude
- Dotted: Predicted trajectory if flight path is managed vertically
- Arrow is if neither of above and shows flight path angle
Level off segment doesnt show in GS/FLS modes
What does the grey area mean in the VD display?
When the track differs by over 3º
(terrain is not the one ahead in the grey area but on the coming turn)
How are global flight plan revisions accessed on the Active F-PLN?
(Alternate/FIX Info/LL Crossing)
How does Hold to Fix and Hold to Altitude work? (HF/HA)
HF (Enters hold over a fix once and automatically exits after one hold)
HA (Enters hold until reaching an altitude the automaitcally exits the hold
