COMPARE AND CONTRAST
A
- 2 Different people, situation, views, or opinions
- How are they similar and different?
- Sometimes a third point that may be unrelated to the things being compared but can be compared to each differing parts.

DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS
A
- Designed for unfocused, fatigued, and untrained test takers.
- Skill:
a. Animated reading
b. Engage with each component
c. Name it’s purposed and Identify relationships to the main argument - Never skip or skim a paragraph
- Questions usually relate to specific paragraphs

NEW CONCEPTS
A
- Stuff familiar/unfamiliar with
- Known general concepts (economics, politics, science)
a. The author likely expanding on each of these.
b. Provides examples.
c. No bias against myself. - Look at author’s new idea definition
- You may be given new information to look at how the author would reason with it.

POINT OF VIEW
A
- The author has a strong agenda and attempting to persuade the reader.
- It may be obvious or subtle (read and observe)
- Check if author breaks argument with facts, statistics, examples.
- Check if author starts with an idea only to give an opposing account
