Myoglobin

A

Often called ‘muscle haemoglobin.’ It is an iron-containing muscle pigment in slow-twitch muscle fit which has a higher affinity for oxygen that haemoglobin.
. It stores oxygen in the muscle fibres which can be used quickly when exercise begins
