How is campylobacter spread?
A
Faecal oral route

What is the incubation period of campylobacter?
A
1-6 days.
(48-72 hours)

When should it be treated and how?
A
It is usually self limiting.
Only treat in severe circumstances or if immunocompromised.
Clarithromycin is first line.

What are the complications of campylobacter?
A
- Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
- Reiter’s syndrome (Reactive Arthritis)
- Septicaemia, endocarditis, arthritis.
