When should it be treated and how?

A

It is usually self limiting.

Only treat in severe circumstances or if immunocompromised.

Clarithromycin is first line.

What are the complications of campylobacter?

A
  • Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
  • Reiter’s syndrome (Reactive Arthritis)
  • Septicaemia, endocarditis, arthritis.
