What is acute care?
Health care that meets immediate needs such as broken hip, cancer care
Why do social care services exist?
Exist to help and support people in need of practical help and/or personal care due to disability or illness
What services do social care provide?
- Carer or support worker
- Help with structural changes to homes to allow a person to live more independently
How does someone access social care services?
- Has to be a practical and financial assessment of needs
- After the assessment, the local authority will decide how much support they need

- Providing support aids for daily living
