Q

What are the differences between thymus and thyroid?

A

Thymus: secrets thymosin and thymopoietin (hormones that have a role in the development of the immune system). Since it secrets hormones its a part of the endocrine system, but since the hormones secreted are for the immune system, it’s also a part of the immune system.

Thyroid: secretes T3, T4, and calcitonin. Can store hormones for later use.
