Was intended as a sleeping pill but was soon found effective in relieving morning sickness. So lots of doctors starting prescribing them but it caused serious ABNORMAL LIMB DEVELOPMENT (not grown legs or arms, maybe none) for about 10,000 babies - half of which died

It is now used for the treatment of other things such as some cancers
