What is the most common cause of burns in adults and kids?
Adults - flame
Kids - scald
If a burn is blistering what level of skin is most likely affected?
Upper dermis (either superficial or mid dermal burn)
Match the following colours of burns to the depth of burn:

How much does a patients hand roughly equate to total body SA wise?
Trunk = 18%
Upper limbs = 9% each (4.5% for front and back of arms)
Lower limbs = 9% for each side of leg

In what situations is this indicated?
Escharatomy
- resp distress
- if burns causing tourniquet effect

What is the most painful burn?
Superficial dermal
What can be used as a temporary dressing on burns?
Clingfilm
What analgesia should be given?
IV morphine if indicated
