Steps for priming the agent on white pad?
Place 2 drops of Reagent A onto the reagent pad. Allow the first drop to absorb before placing the next drop
If the mixture does not run thru the whole test strip in a minute?
an additional drop of reagent a must be applied
Before the mixture reaches the top of the test strip?
add an additional 4 drops of reagent strip to the wash pad
Read test result through the viewing window at what amount of time?
15 minutes. Results are invalid if read after 15 minutes
What is in T1?
Positive for Plasmodium Falciparum
What is in T2?
- Positive for Plasmodium Vivax,
- Malariae, or
- Ovale. May indicate mixed infection of the three malaria parasites
T1 and T2
- Plasmodium Falciparum and other types of malaria in a mixed infection.
Only C line?
indicates the test is negative
“C” line does not appear?
Invalid, retest and check exp

When patient is febrile
