Biomolecular interactions Flashcards
1
Q
What is surface plasmon resonance?
A
Coherent delocalised electron oscillations at interfaces
2
Q
How does surface plasmon resonance work?
A
Interaction between the analyte with ligands causes changes to the SPR wave which alters the angle of reflection of the incident light
3
Q
What are the changes to the SPR wave proportional to?
A
The mass of the analyte thus a smaller analyte will give lower signal levels
4
Q
What are the sensor chips?
A
A surface for the immobilisation of ligands on the surface
5
Q
KD calculation
A
KD=Kd/Ka
