Q

What must happen to the number of Chromosomes when the Gametes are Formed? Why?

Q

Explain the Meiosis of Gametes: (5)

A

-23 Maternal & 23 Paternal Chromosomes enclosed in Nucleus. 46 Chromosomes in total.

-Each Chromosome Duplicates. 92 Chromosomes in total. First Division.

-Nuclear Membrane Breaks Down. M+P Chromosomes Pair Up along the Centre of the Cell. Second Division.

-Sections of DNA are Swapped between M+P Chromosome Pairs, Creating Recombinant Chromosomes.

-Four Haploid Daughter Cells Produced.
