What does CAH stand for?
Congenital Adrenal Hyperlasia
What is CAH?
Inherited disorder that affects the adrenal glands. Girls with CAH usually have normal internal reproductive organs but also have male genitalia.
What does AIS stand for?
Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome
What is AIS?
An insensitivity to androgens (such as testosterone) which can lead to the lack of external male genitalia.
Females may also be exposed to large doses of testosterone and develop swollen genitalia that resembles a penis
What research was conducted about Testosterone?
Nanne Van De Poll (1988) found it is linked to aggression, rats injected with T were more sexually and physically aggressive
