usually left unless problematic and then would do cryotherapy or curettage
What is cryotherapy?
freeze with liquid nitrogen
pros of cryotherapy
cheap and easy to perform on the day
Cons of cryotherapy
scar, failure/recurrence and no pathology result
What is leser trelat?
paraneoplastic
abrupt onset of widespread seborrheic keratosis
What can leser trelat signify?
underlying solid organ malignancy eg GI adenocarcinoma
What is the cause of viral warts?
HPV
Treatment of viral warts
not treated in children
clear when immunity develops
cryotherapy or wart paints can stimulate immune system slightly
curette if severe
Define a cyst
encapsulated lesion containing fluid or semi-fluid material
How do cysts feel?
firm and fluctuant

excision
antibiotics, intralesional steroid, incision and drain
What is a dermatofibroma?
benign fibrous nodule often on limbs due to proliferation of fibroblasts

firm nodule, tethered to skin but mobile over fat
pale pink/brown - paler in centre
