livers made up of large number of lobules
lobules = hexagonal arrangement, at each corner a branch of hepatic vein and artery delivering blood, in centre is central vein(drains blood), blood passes from corner to centre through hepatocytes(sheets of liver cells)
what is a sinusoid
a space for blood flow, found in lobules of liver
how is the pancreas unusual
it is both an exocrine and endocrine gland
what does the endocrine pancreas consist of
small, scattered island of tissue called islets of Langerhans which produce a no. of hormones(eg insulin)
