Q

Procedure

A
  • Children were allocated into groups based on their levels of aggression
  • There were three major conditions: control group, group exposed to aggressive model and group exposed to passive model
  • In the aggressive model, kids observed an adult behaving physically with the doll. Aggression was both physical and verbal.
  • In the passive group, the model was playing with blocks in the room quietly, not interacting with the doll.
  • The control group had no model

Q

Evaluation

A

+ matched pairs design allows to reduce aggression variation between participants
+ high internal validity
+ external validity high since the sample was quite big
+ no order effects
- ethical considerations (using underage participants, protection from harm, deception, confidentiality, withdrawal)
