What does deoxygenated blood do?
Goes to the lungs to get oxygen, then goes to the heart.
What does oxygenated blood do?
It goes to other organs, gives up its oxygen, then returns to the heart.
What is the heart and what is it made of?
A pumping organ made of muscle tissue.
What do valves do?
Prevent backward flow.
How many chambers are there in the heart?
4.
What is the first step in the blood cycle?
The blood flows from the vena cava and pulmonary vein to the atria.
What is the second step in the blood cycle?
The atria contract and squeeze the blood into ventricles.
What is the third step in the blood cycle?
The ventricles contract, squeezing blood into the pulmonary artery and aorta, out of the heart.
What is the fourth step in the blood cycle?
The blood flows to organs via arteries then returns via veins.
What kind of circulatory system do humans have?
A double circulatory system.
