B200 Powerplant (BB-1693) Flashcards
What is the make and model number of the powerplants installed on our B200?
PT6A-42s
Does our B200 have an OIL PRESS warning annunciator?
No.
What is meant by the term “free turbine” with respect to the B200 power plant?
The gas generator (N1) is not mechanically linked to the power section (Np or N2).
What drives the PT-6 compressor (gas generator)?
Combustion of Jet-A and air.
(Compressor turbine)
(*last one before power section)
What drives the PT-6 propeller?
The power turbines (there are two) via a gas interface that is proximal but does not touch the gas generator turbine.
What is the horsepower rating of the power plants on the B200?
850 SHP
What is the gas generator shaft rotational speed limit (N1) for takeoff and max continuous?
101.5% of N1
What is the propeller rotational speed limit for takeoff and max continuous?
2000 RPM
What brand of propeller is installed on our B200?
Hartzell
Scimitar / Turbofan ‘style’
What are the approved engine fuels for this powerplant?
Jet-A
Jet-B
Jet-A1
What is the permissible operating range for engine oil capacity?
no lower than negative 3 quarts
What is the max ITT for an engine start?
1000°C 5 sec.
What is the max ITT for takeoff, max continuous, and cruise?
750°C
What is the starter duty cycle limits on our B200?
40 sec. on / 60 sec. off
40 sec. on / 60 sec. off
40 sec. on / 30 min. off
How would you respond to an oil pressure below 85psi?
(red) below 60 psi immediate shutdown
(yellow) 60 to 99 psi is undesirable, limit Tq to 1100 ft-#
How does the pilot determine if a fuel anti-icing additive is required?
page 2-7 of POH
When is cross feeding of fuel allowed?
Only during OEI (one engine inoperative) flight.
Describe the airflow through the powerplant on the B200?
reverse flow schematic
Does our B200 have an engine fire extinguisher system?
No.
