Stimulants cause more neurotransmitter to cross the synapse
What does smoking cause?
Emphysema
Bronchitis
Cancer(mouth throat oesophagus and lung)

How does cigarette smoke effect ciliated epithelial cells lining the trachea, bronchi and bronchioles?
Smoke damages cilia on tissue which encourages mucus to be produced. Mucus can’t be removed because of damaged cilia
Mucus sticks to air passages causing smokers cough
Lungs lose elasticity causing emphysema
What are the short term effects of alcohol on the body?
