Describe monocular vision?

A
  • animals with an eye of each side of the head
  • much wider field of view

How do we judge distance?

A

Your brain compares the image from each eye. If images are very similar, the brain knows you are lookign at something from a distance

A

Explain long-sighted vision

A

Can see things in distance clearly, but not near

  • eyeball too short
  • cannot see near object because the light rays to not meet on the retina so image is blurred

A

Converging lens bends light rays inwards before they enter the eye.

The light rays now meet on the retina so image is in focus

A

Can see close things clearly, but not things far away

Distant object reflect light rays and the light rays meet in front of the retina so image is blurred
