What causes AVN ?
A
Steroid use, trauma, or idiopathically.

What are the early radiographic signs of AVN ?
A
Increased bone density at the joint without the presence of osteophytes and joint space narrowing.
Patchy or mottled density.
Crescent sign(a subchondral lucency) .

what are the late radiographic signs of AVN ?
A
Collapse of the articular surface with eventual joint fragmentation. Then remodelling.

Will you get geodes ( subchondral cysts) with AVN and what other disease processes do you get Geodes ?
A
Yes

Tip - They can Geodes and no other findings.
