Who should the 1st arriving Officer contact and what information should they receive when arriving at a “ABR” school?
- The “ABR” SCHOOLS are described in F.P. Dir. 2/84, and CIDS instructions for such schools will give specific details, if necessary, to responding units. In addition, the first officer to arrive shall immediately contact the principal or person in charge re the status and/or location of all non-ambulatory students for action and/or relay to the officer in command on his arrival.
“ABR IN PROCESS” and “NON-ABR” SCHOOLS will be operating under the ISP concept. In these schools a member or members of the school staff will be responsible for each student who cannot remove himself. The plan might require the staff member(s) to attempt evacuation or proceed to “safe” area pending Fire Department arrival.
The Idividual Safety Plan should contain what information?
- 1 Each student’s plan, which the person in charge will have in his (her) possession, will contain the following information:
- 1.1 Name of student.
- 1.2 Location of student within the building throughout the school day.
- 1.3 Names of staff member(s) designated to evaluate the student.
- 1.4 Name of back-up staff member(s) in the event that designated staff member is absent or out of the building.
