90% are asymptomatic
can also cause flu, aseptic meningitis, and paralytic dz
dest of ant horn cells (bulbar polio)–> death due to resp failure
Sabine vaccine –> live attenuated
Salk –> killed; used in US

A

hand, foot, mouth disease
herpangina –> herpes-like vesicles in buccal mucosa
common cause of aseptic meningitis
note that Group B is assoc with myo and pericardial infections
