Arousal
A physical and mental state of alertness/ excitement varying from deep sleep to intended excitement
Direct aggression
Any action which allows an athlete to take out their aggression on another player.
Indirect aggression
Any action which allows an athlete to take out their aggression on an object such as a ball
Introvert personality type
This person has a low level of arousal. They tend to be shy, quiet, thoughtful and solitary
Extrovert personality type
This person has a high level of arousal. They tend to enjoy interacting with others, they are sociable and they are aroused by others.
Motivation
The drive to succed or the desire to achieve something.
How to manage stress
-deep breathing. -mental rehearsals, visualisation and imagery. -positive self-talk.
Intrinsic
This is a drive from within, a performer may get a real sense of personal achievement and self-satisfaction
Extrinsic
This is a drive to perform well or to win in order to get a price, trophies or money
