Aerobic And Anarobic Exercise Flashcards
Anaerobic exercise
This respiration is used when the body works without sufficient oxygen being supplied to muscle. This is used for short distance sports.
The equation for anaerobic exercise
Glucose -> energy + lactic acid
Aerobic exercise
This respiration is used when the body is exercising for a long period of time and the energy is produced using oxygen
What is the equation for aerobic exercise
Glucose + oxygen -> energy + Cardin dioxide + water
EPOC (oxygen dept)
Excess post-exercise oxygen occurs during anaerobic exercise. This is where lactic acid builds up due to the body running out of sufficient oxygen so glucose stores are used as an alternative energy supply (lactic acid)
Immediate effects of exercise
Increase heart rate, increase muscle temperature, Increase in amount of sweat 💦
