Continental climate
Due to the rain shadow effect caused by the Andes mountains, it has very little rainfall and depends on irrigation from the Andes mountains for its viticulture. Without irrigation there would be no wine production in Argentina.
Due to dry conditions, area is free from fungal diseases.
