What is an Intel Requirement?
Gaps we must collect against. To fill a gap in the commanders knowledge and understanding of the OE so that they can make decisions.
What are the four subsets of Intel Requirements?
Intel Requirement - must collect. Known unknowns
Info Requirement - inform commander to be successful
CCIR - PIRs and FFIRs
EEFI - What we need to protect from the enemy
What are five attributes of CCIRs?
Situation dependent - linked to CU or FUOPS
Commander specific
Operation specific
Reported Immediately
Focuses on predictable events or activities
What is an info gap?
Knowledge that the staff has deemed missing after receiving the commander’s intent and filling out the running estimates based off the IPB.
What are six attributes of a PIR?
Asks one question Focus on something specific (event, fact, activity) Are linked to an NAI and time/event Tied to a commanders decision point Limited to focus collection efforts Indicates LTIOV
What is an FFIR?
Information the commander must know about the status of friendly forces or capabilities.
What is an EEFI?
Friendly aspects that if known by the enemy would compromise the mission. Things we must protect.
What is the difference between info and intel?
Analysis and Production
What is a CCIR?
An IR identified by the commander as being critical to facilitating timely decision making.
