✓ Amikacin
✓ Capreomycin
✓Para-aminosalicyclic acid
✓ Cycloserine
✓ Ethionamide
Intensive phase
INH (H) 300 mg + Rifampin (R) 600 mg +
Pyrazinamide (Z) 1500 mg + Ethambutol (E) 1000 mg
OR
Streptomycin (S) 1000 mg + Pyridoxine 10 mg
daily for 2 months or thrice weekly period 2 months
Continuation phase-
INH (H) 300 mg + Rifampin (R) 600 mg + Pyridoxine 10 mg daily for 4 months
INH:
potent bactericidal
Rifampin:
potent bactericidal
Pyrazinamide
Weak bactericidal, active against
intracellular bacilli
Ethambutol
bacteriostatic, prevents resistance development
Streptomycin
bactericidal, active against extracellular rapid growers.
