This herb can be used for warts. The essential oil of this herb should not be taken internally because it contains a neurotoxin. Other toxicity symptoms include:

Escharotic treatment for cervical dysplasia and treatment for Basal/Squamous cell carcinoma
Sanguinaria canadensis (Bloodroot) containing isoquinoline alkaloids
Antifungal that contains lichen acids. The lichen acids are hepatotoxic so concentrated acid extracts should not be used. Use the whole plant
Usnea barbata (Old Man’s Beard) containing lichen acid (usnic acid)
Immunostimulant, anticatarrhal, and diaphoretic that contains unsaturated pyrrolizidine alkaloids
Eupatorium perfoliatum (boneset) contains unsaturated pyrrolizidine alkaloids
Antihelminthic herb that may cause urinary retention and severe diarrhea with vomiting if toxic doses are reached
Artemisia absinthium
This herb should be combined with iron for best efficacy. It is also contraindicated in pregnancy
Artemisia annua
Relatively minimal toxicity risk of this herb, but it should not be used in late pregnancy
Berberis vulgaris
Antimicrobial against cholera, candidiasis, H.pylori, and Staphylococcal skin infections
Hydrastis canadensis (Goldenseal) containing Isoquinoline alkaloids (berberine)
This herb may cause hypersalivation with too high of a dosing schedule
Baptisia tinctoria
Topical side effects of this herb are: ulceration, skin necrosis, and local nerve damage

Antiviral herb that contains furanocoumarins which theoretically may potentiate anticoagulant therapy
Lomatium dissectum (Desert Parsley root) contains furanocoumarins
