Treat constipation
Rubbed band ligation
Haemorrhoid artery ligation operation (HALO)
Staple anopexy
Open haemorrhoidectomy
What are fissures?
Painful tear in lining of lower anal canal
What is the treatment of anal fissure?
Treat constipation
GTN ointment + Diltiazem
Botox injection into sphincter
Sphincterectomy
What is an anorectal abscess?
Buildup of fluids and pus beneath the skin around the anus or rectum
What is the treatment of anorectal abscess?
Incision and drainage
Antibiotics if septic
What is an anal fistula?
Opening between the skin and analcanal/rectum
Abscesses discharge to form fistulas
What is the treatment for fistulas?
Difficult to treat
Drain sepsis
Sphincter preservation
Lay fistula open (NOT IN WOMEN)
What is rectal prolapse?
The mucosa or all layers may protrude through the anus
