What is ankyloglossia?

A

There is no consistent definition. Congenital anomaly characterized by abnormally short lingual frenulum. It can be classified based on the degree of fusion remaining between the tongue and the floor of the mouth.

A

Tongue is fused to the floor of the mouth in early development and typically becomes less fused with the frenulum left as the only remnant of initial attachment. Typically occurs in isolation
