Animal And Plant Cells 1.2 Flashcards
What is in both plant and animal cells and there function
Nucleus-Controls all activity of cell. contains DNA coding for particular protein needed to build new cells. Enclosed by nuclear membrane.
Cytoplasm-liquid substance in which chemical reactions occur. Contains enzymes. Organelles found in it
Cell membrane-controls what enters and leaves the cell
Mitochondria-where aerobic respiration reactions occur, providing energy for cell
Ribosomes-where protein synthesis occurs
What is only in plant cells and function
Chloroplasts-where photosynthesis takes olace, providing the food for the plant. Contains chlorophyll pigment (makes it green) which harvests the light needed for photosynthesis.
Permanant vacuole-contains cell sap. Found within cytoplasm. Improves cell’s rigidity
Cell wall-made from cellulose. Provides strength to the cell
In bacterial cell?
Cytoplasm
Cell membrane
Cell wall-made from peptidogyclan
Singular circular strand of DNA-have no nucleus, floats in cytoplasm
Plasmids-small rings of DNA
